Angry Players
Countless people suffer years of frustration in their lives. Whatever life history a person has experienced affects what they bring to the casino. You can almost see chips on shoulders and for those you cannot see, you are likely to hear them.
Because a poker room is a unique venue where much less social pressure exists to behave, these people will often act in a way that would be egregious in most social circles. They feel as if life stomps upon them and every loss in a game is just one more example of how unjust the world is. Many of these people struggle everyday with life, and somehow they have managed to cope, pay bills, and maybe even find a suitable, commiserating companion. They are tired of always having to repress their need to strike out at their oppressors, and when they get to the card room, they release the floodgates.
What these people do not realize is that when they expend energy being angry, some opponents relish the opportunity to cause them that pain! Punish opponents and watch them brood! What fun! Unbalancing an already volatile opponent can actually be a method to gain profit. Their anger is actually sad. Many of these people are really struggling to control themselves, but without success. Those who are unable to repress their anger will usually be unable to control their play too. Some rarely forego any opportunity for release.
