Aspect of an Opponents Personality

To identify who you are up against, you will have to pay close attention. You can gain knowledge by listening to your more boisterous opponents talk about the techniques that they use in reading opponent's hands. In addition, watch them.

Sensors tend to prefer to read non-fiction; their thoughts tend to be sequential, and are more likely to be aware of fashion. Intuitives tend to prefer fiction; repeat themselves, and reiterate what they've said perhaps slightly changing it; and tend to use metaphors; their language is complex.

Another trait that may influence the playing type of a person is the Thinking vs. Feeling part of personality. David Keirsey interprets Myer's terminology to mean Tough-minded vs. Friendly." These different `titles', while easier to recognize, do not necessarily give an entire picture of "how or why" these people behave the way they do.

Keirsey gives us a much better clue to as to how this will affect their play by stating that a Thinking person tends to favor that which occurs in his head and a Feeling person tends more often to follow his heart.

You can see that a Thinker would be more likely to follow a strict strategy based on knowledge, and perhaps odds, whereas a Feeler might take a draw or pursue a hand based on whether they felt it was going to get there.

Thinkers will "tend to be matter-of-fact; assertive, distant, tend to appear business-like, and may be blunt and tactless".
