Considerate and Inconsiderate People

Did you ever notice how most people in the world worry about what is important to them? Living in and visiting small towns and big cities, I have witnessed, first hand, the disturbing fact that big cities lead to impersonal, selfish attitudes.

Frequently, someone has to know you to care about you. People exhibit less initial 'friendliness' than used to be commonplace. It is too dangerous in bigger cities to be unwary in modern society.

Typically, when people are more intimately involved with others, they raise their level of consideration and helpfulness. However, too many people are just openly inconsiderate. While some folks go out of their way to take into account their environment, and other peoples' needs, others ignore, or are apathetic to those around them. One group drives the other nuts!

Outside of the desire to throttle someone who is not conscientious, is there an advantage you can gain over him? You need to decide if he is inconsiderate knowingly, or if he is just oblivious. The difference is that someone who is `rude' may still have observational talents, he may just not care how others receive him.

On the other hand, unaware people will not notice much about the crucial activities at the poker table. They will be unskilled at reading people and may even have trouble following the action.

Sometimes it is amazing that these people can survive everyday life! Like anything else, their priority is not success in poker. Bless their hearts.
