Personalities Identifying
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is a system to evaluate businesses and counselors. It divides people into 16 different personality types based upon what ar Jung believed to be traits that were consistent in a person throughout life.
Isabel Myers and her mother, Kathryn Briggs organized the 16 different types of personalities identifying them distinctly using four letters.
According to this personality scale, a person is `Extroverted' or `Introverted', `Sensory' or `Intuitive', `Thinking' or `Feeling', and lastly, `Judging' or Perceiving'. Someone who is an `ENTP' is Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking and Perceiving (many successful salespeople fit this profile).
The study of these various personalities is the subject of many books, but we are primarily concerned with how they relate to our ability to size up an opponent at the poker table. I should take the time to point out that one's ability to size up an opponent at the poker table correlates with one's MBTe!
Certain personalities are more in touch with other people and it is easier for them to figure out what is going on in their opponents' heads. I have often found myself talking to friends about aspects of poker that had to do with evaluating an opponent and what they were likely to do.
It was clear that my friends who were still talented poker players did not understand some ideas. What makes us talented in one matter can hinder us in another area of life. In further study of this fascinating area of psychology, I realized that not all aspects of a personality would affect the way a person played poker.
