Many folks enjoy being the center of attention. They may have different levels of charisma, good taste and appeal. At the poker table, they will usually find groups of people that will sit, perhaps listen to virtually anything they choose to utter, and usually not leave.
For many, this is the only venue where they get a fulfilling response. In other social circles, people will often not choose to be around them if they are not entertaining.
Their perception usually is that they are funny, or interesting, and many are. However, many just speak that which is on their mind, and most people will not enjoy their company.
At a poker table, they have several people who will stick around whether or not they are listening! Players with this affliction are not often talented; they usually spend more time trying to be the center of attention than playing cards correctly.

The thrill o t e gam e is kgr for these folks. They crave action, but they will supply it if someone else does not. They usually only shun action when they are losing badly. These people are still at the stage of the game where the thrill is most important.
It can actually be a healthy release for folks who work long hours and are just blowing off some steam for stakes that they can afford. Most of these players are quite enjoyable to be around; they have not yet reached a pathological level of gambling addiction.
